In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005. 

RIP Lt. Michael P. Murph 

This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it "Body Armor". From here on it will be referred to as "Murph" in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.

Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed. Start and finish with a mile run. If you've got a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it.

24 Heroes in 24 Hours...



Pennant CrossFit (PCF) will be hosting a unique fundraising event this Memorial Day to honor our Nation’s heroes and to raise money to support veterans and their families. Over the course of 24 hours, teams of athletes will be completing 24 Hero WODs, one WOD at the top of each hour. This event will be open to all boxes and all proceeds raised will be donated to Veterans Inc. based in Worcester. 

I completed the following WODs as part of a team:

  • Whip
  • Blake
  • Luke
and completed Murph solo. It was an amazing event!

I weighed 158 pounds this morning. Almost 2 times bodyweight. Long slow climb to 500 pounds. I feel better and 47 then I did at 17.

Goal was to get through the set of 5 burpees before the 60:00 cap. Did that with 12 seconds to spare! 200 burpees and 3.75 miles of running. That was "fun"!
